To make your home as warm and cozy as possible, here are some ways to winterize or be prepared for another round of cold weather and frosty mornings:<\/span><\/p>\n

INVEST IN SOME INSULATED WINDOW COVERINGS<\/span><\/p>\n

If you think that sheer curtains are enough, think twice. They may be back on trend, but they\u2019re not so good at keeping the heat in and cool out. If you notice that your windows do not have sufficient window covering, start searching online to look for some layered or insulated curtains or roller blinds to keep the cold out with style. Several hardware stores also offer window insulation kits if you are adamant on sheers.<\/span><\/p>\n

BRING OUT THOSE CUSHIONS<\/span><\/p>\n

The coziness of a home largely depends on the cushions you have. Just imagine the comfort you may get if you create a snug space to cuddle up in! So, why not introduce new layers of textures at home? There are plenty of options for you to choose from. Think plush velvet, cozy knitted throws and some other warming hints that you can use this winter. It would also be better to pick colours that are rich and warming hues, such as olive green, terracotta and dusty pinks to invite retreat from the cold.<\/span><\/p>\n

COVER UP HARD FLOORS<\/span><\/p>\n

Having hardwood or concrete floors might not be ideal during the winter season. So, one way to winterize your home besides having an underfloor heating, is by covering your tiles or hardwood floors with rugs to help hold in any heat. Not only will your home be warmer but your feet with thank you for that plush feel under your toes. The change in appearance will also give you a nice change up, after all a change is as good as a holiday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another thing you definitely don\u2019t want to miss is roof maintenance. Determine your roof\u2019s integrity by doing a visual inspection. Look for sections of the roof where the tiles are cracked, or out of place. Loose screws and rusted panels should also be checked to see if there are some potential leaks in the making.<\/span><\/p>\n

Double check your air-conditioning system or heater are in good working order.
