New ATO Office Tower Development at Garden City

New ATO Office Tower Development at Garden City

The diversified, boutique, unlisted property fund “Quintessential Equity” submitted an application for the tower development of the 14 storey A-Grade commercial tower situated at 17 Wadley Street, Upper Mount Gravatt. According to the proposal, the development will take up the eastern carpark section of the Garden Square office complex near Westfield Garden City.

Made up of 12 commercial floor levels, one mezzanine level and a basement level, the commercial tower will provide a total of 25,606sqm of gross floor area.

The development application also indicates a plan to permeate the space in MacGregor Street by building an interactive arbour plaza using timber elements with vertical gardens that bring in natural light and breeze. Two rooftop terraces have also been proposed for both the 5th and 10th floors of the tower to comply with the Brisbane City Council’s “buildings that breathe” guidelines.

Aside from those, Fender Katsalidis, the architecture firm who designed the tower, is also proposing a ground floor cafe that will cater to the pedestrians’ streetscape experience as well as a friendly link that will feed straight into the Westfield precinct.

In terms of location, moreover, the area of the project seems to be very accessible to public transport. This strongly supports the aims of the BCC and the State Interests in relation to promoting sustainable travel patterns and services. Last but not the least, a plan for a potential future adjacent mixed use tower has been included in the development application which indicates a building height of 8 storeys high.
